Quote from J.B. :BTW the track in the video is Zandvoort. Anyone recognize the game?

Looks like a TRD model of Zandvoort to me, but TRD never sounded that good!

yea that does seem strange, i think they seem to think that if they dress up like boy racers they can get close to them and the jump them. fat lot of good that does when all they get is a small fine and a slap on the wrist.

I was lucky enough to do the ultimate experience a year or two ago, it was the single seater, a wee bit of skid pan, then the rally stage at the end. it was a great day and i'd love to do all of them again.

The single seater, driving around on your own is great, i would definatley recomend it. For anyone that has been a fan of the track for a long time then its a real treat to drive the actually drive the circuit.

Quote from dynofiend :yes this is my everyday car! Its a series 1 xsi with a GTi 16v engine, 283mm brakes, bilstein suspension, a smattering of group N parts and just about everything that can be cut down or removed, has been, right down to the wiring loom.

Nice! this is the car im on the look out for, but good XSi's are hard to come buy. my first car was a Series 1 106 and then i got a Series 2 but i didn't find it as funa dn its got to amny things to go worng! So im on the look out for a back to basics Series 1 like that!

stay away from french cars ive had two 106's and both are a nightmare to work on so i'd stay away.

My recomendation would be VW Lupo, or a SEAT Arosa, although the Arosa interiors are no where near as nice as the Lupo's. There good looking, nippy and the deisel can get upto 60mpg (tested on top gear years ago). Low insurance groups aswell, i think the Lupo is a 5 and the Arosa is a 4.

Quote from RockBottomWalsh :That's a cool track overlay, though the layout presents some obvious technical diffuculties. With the track going over a bridge there doesnt seem to be alot that the marshalls could do to clear a car that crashes at that point which could lead to some long safety car periods. other than that the track looks good

The harbour front looks pretty different from that these dayts, they re-built the whole lot for the americas cup boat race this year.

i dont know if anyone else has mentioned it, but in RACE 07 there planning a few more different types of racing, Radicals, F3000 and FBMW. interesting to see how they tackle single seaters for the first time...

haha u race 340's as cup cars? thats somtrhing i'd like to see. my mum had a 240GLT years and years ago, it was a beast but the RWD eventually got the better of her and she slide of a snowy road into a pub. How does the 240 compare to the 242, is the 242 newer?

Quote from evilgeek :even though i'm generally opposed to using lawyers to sort out problems, i'm with michelin on this one. FIA has been doing some very odd things lately.

I agree this seems like a very strange decisions since the BFGoodrich tyres were the tyre of choice, seems like the FIA are still holding a grudge towards Michelin. And hell, when is it ever like a french company not to pickanother french company (going by the majority of the FIA being based and run by french people)

Quote from ATC Quicksilver :He is sorely missed in the WRC, he pulls in more fans and for me still has enough to be in the top 3. Hopefully he will get his car going and enter, and beat the manufacturers...which would be awesome.

I think to be honest hes past the WRC now, i was disopointing , his performance in the Xsara a few years back, it was a proven car and he still only managed 7th. Don't get me wrong i love the guy, but i think what hes doing now is alot better, the odd event like this, Le Mans, Dakar and he still does a few national classic rallys everyear that attract alot of attention. But most importantly i think his work with Kris Meeke and projects like the R4, thats where his experience is best placed now.

Quote from glyphon :I noticed aston martin isn't on there. who, i think ford used to own, but just sold, not sure to whom though.

also, doesn't lamborghini fall into the Porsche-VW group?

and Mitsubishi was left off the list. they are mostly independant, but do collaborate with the Daimler-Chrysler group.

Yea Aston have just been bought by a consortuim(sp?) which include a middle eastern rich buisness man, a canadian or american rich buisness man and David Richards of Prodrive chipped in but if i understand correctly its independent of Prodrive. Im glad to be honest, one of the most upseting things for me is looking at and aston or jag and seeing fittings and buttons out of a ford mondeo in it, i know it makes things cheaper but thats nott he point of a prestige car.

hey keiran, just out of interest where are you driving to and from?

I used to have to drive in from Carnoustie to Dundee for college during the week for 9. It was only a 15-18 mile drive but because of the time and mostly due to the fact the A92 was in the middle of the upgrade to a dual carrigeway it used to take an hour at best. On the most part the standard of driving was so poor, just idiots that have no patiance and don't seem to know how to drive in traffic. But the worst thing i'd have to say was ppl are just so rude, its a thing i notice more from living in Glasgow the last few months where on the most part drivers are really curtious, but in Dundee its just not funny.

The same journey takes about 30-40mins at most now thanks to a shiny new dual carrigeway, shame theres a stupid 40mph blanket speed restriciton on the second half of it though.

My dad had a similar experience of a dick trying to cut in to him at a junction, the claypots junction in Dundee for anyone who might know it, the guy basically drove into my dads car and just missed the car behind because he couldn't be bothred waiting another 10mins in the right lane. He didn't stop and my dad plus the driver bhind had to chase him up the road and eventually got him to stop, luckily the guy behind had phoned the police and they were there in minutes. The chicken admitted driving with out care a day before his court case where he was possibly facing dangerous driving. Plus my dads car was an insurance right off, it was an old Audi 80 that was valued at 250bucks and the damage was about 300bucks, he kept the car and the money The idiot hopefully got a nice fine and a few points.
